Sally has been involved in sport from an early age, with both swimming and running being her primary interests from the offset. Sally is a decorated swimmer at Club and National level, having competed for Hampshire North. She went on to represent Great Britain in several International Biathle competitions including the World Championships in Italy and Monaco. More recently, whilst studying at Greenwich University, she was also a member and Team Leader for the university swim team competing in several inter-university championships across London, including BUCS. As well as swimming, at her peak Sally was also Top 10 in the UK for Cross Country and experienced significant success in this domain.

Why Swimming

Since I was young swimming has always been important. My mum had a near drowning experience when she was young, so she instinctively wanted me to learn the fundamentals to ensure my risk was minimal. As I continued through the learning programme I found that I was quite good, so kept it going and going until competition took hold. As we competed, I enjoyed travelling both nationally and internationally with my team to race. All of the hard work in the training sessions was unleashed into those competitions. It was amazing to experience the challenges as well as the rewards when they came – without doubt, extremely valuable lessons in my life.
